As for Virginia, what would be the impact in the event the Democrat ticket proposed above were to win in November? Well look at history over the past 30 years (since 1978).

Every time a Democrat is elected US President, a Republican has been elected Governor of Virginia in the next gubernatorial election. So Virginia runs opposite of national politics.

If Obama were to select Virginia Governor Tim Kaine for the Vice President slot on the (D) ticket (or if elected for a Cabinet post), this would also statistically suggest that Virginia would likely have a 5 year Republican Governor - Bill Bolling.
